War Vets Picketing Hotel Vancouver, Friday 4 January 1946
After WWII, ex-servicemen demanded that the old Hotel Vancouver be used to alleviate the housing crisis. Eventually they occupied the building and ran it themselves as a hostel. The action led directly to concrete housing reforms.
